As a child, I was always creative; I used to draw and paint almost every day. As I got into my early teenage years, I enjoyed making posters for my favorite bands on free editing websites. High school introduced me to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which was when I first started to develop a fondness for digital media. Now, earning my Graphic Design Associate degree from MATC, I’ve grown as an artist and a person, discovering my strengths and improving my skills. I’m excited to see where my art takes me in the next couple of years and the opportunities ahead.
You will be introduced to the range of opportunities in this field: design of print-generated and computer-generated graphics for books, newspapers, magazines, web applications and marketing materials; and additional design applications for point-of-purchase, packaging and outdoor advertising.
Today’s digital world reduces the geographic limits for finding clients. Employers include advertising agencies, corporations and nonprofit groups.
