My journey to discovering my career passion has been a long one, but I’m so glad I listened to what I loved doing as a child. Growing up, I enjoyed designing homes through the computer game The Sims. During the pandemic, I gave myself space for self-discovery and fell back in love with home design. My time at MATC has been rewarding, and I’m excited to continue pursuing a career in interior design. My goal is to continue working in residential spaces, and I also hope to have the opportunity to design educational environments in the future.
Interior designers use creativity, technical knowledge, and aesthetics to create solutions that improve the function and quality of interior environments. Coursework includes manual and computer-aided design (CAD) drawing, and commercial and residential planning.
Demand for interior designers is strongest in kitchen and bath design and remodeling, and in corporate and industrial facilities design.
The Interior Design program features exploratory courses that count toward a credential. Contact an MATC advisor for information.
