Hello, I’m Wren, an Interior Design student at Milwaukee Area Technical College with a focus on sustainable commercial design. I spent years searching for the right career path, and when I discovered interior design, everything finally clicked. As someone who is both creative and analytical, I love the way this field blends problem‑solving with artistic expression. My design approach centers on efficient space planning, human‑centered comfort, and environmentally responsible materials. I aim to create spaces that function beautifully, feel welcoming, and contribute positively to the planet.
Interior designers use creativity, technical knowledge, and aesthetics to create solutions that improve the function and quality of interior environments. Coursework includes manual and computer-aided design (CAD) drawing, and commercial and residential planning.
Demand for interior designers is strongest in kitchen and bath design and remodeling, and in corporate and industrial facilities design.
The Interior Design program features exploratory courses that count toward a credential. Contact an MATC advisor for information.
